Image formats

Our standard image formats.
This is both the formats we deliver processed files in, and the formats that we accept from customers.

TIFF

– Tagged Image File Format:

The TIFF format is by default not compressed, which in some cases makes TIFF files pretty heavy – take up a lot of space (megabyte). The format however have plenty of options for compression, if the files gets to heavy to handle. TIFF images can contain multiple layers, layer masks, clipping paths and other Photoshop features.
Suitable for high resolution printing, without loss of quality.

PSD

– Adobe Photoshop Document:

PSD is Photoshops native format and therefore supports all Photoshop features like adjustment layers, smart objects, layer styles, blending modes, vector text, graphics, etc.
The format is not compressed, and the more elements an image contains, the larger file size.
Suitable for high resolution printing, without loss of quality.

JPEG

– Joint Photographic Experts Group:

JPEG is a compressed format, which makes the file size significantly smaller than other file formats.
The format can’t contain multiple layers or layer masks, but paths are supported.
Suitable for web use and printing.

PNG

– Portable Network Graphics:

This format is by default not compressed, but several options for smaller file sizes are available.
The PNG format does not support layer masks, but transparency is an option, which makes cut-outs on a see-through background possible.
Clipping paths and multiple layers are not supported. Suitable for web use.

Our server

When you have your own account on our server, it is very easy to get your cut-outs done. All you have to do, is log on to your designated area and upload your files via some client-based FTP software. If you would like a free FTP client-based software, we can recomend Filezilla, which you can download here.

In the TODO folder, all the services you subscribe to are represented by folders, in which you upload your images. In the DONE folder, your processed images will be returned after completion. The images will be returned after 1, 12 or 24 hours, depending on which service you use.

Web GUI - Web interface

If you would like to keep an eye on your files in the system at any given time, you can log on to our Web Interface, via this home page. (link)
With the Web Interface you will be able to trace and track all your files – both ongoing jobs and old ones.

You use the same username and password to log in to the Web Interface, as you use to log in to the FTP server.

This service is included in all accounts – no extra costs.

After login, you will see 3 folders:

1 TODO – in the service folders in TODO, you can upload images to our cut-out service.

2 DONE – in this folder your processed images will be returned, after completion.

3 RETOUCH – for images that need retouching. This folder is optional.

The TODO folder contains a service folder for each service you are subscribing to.

IMAGES HAVE TO BE UPLOADED INTO THESE SERVICEFOLDERS, TO BE PROCESSED.
The service folders are dynamic, which means that the files you upload to these folders will automatically disappear, when the system have detected them.
If you wish, you can upload folders containing the images to be processed, and you will get the images back in the same folders.

In the DONE folder, your processed images will be uploaded after completion.
The images will be returned after 1, 12 or 24 hours, depending on which service you use.
You won’t get any mails or other notifications when files are done, but you can follow all your images in our system, via our Web Interface.
Your files will be deleted after 25 days from completion, so remember to remove them before that.

The last folder: RETOUCH, is for images that need touch-up or advanced retouch.
You upload images to RETOUCH/TODO, and get them back in RETOUCH/DONE.
These folders are NOT dynamic, so you will need to send us an email (morten@image2work.com), containing instructions regarding the the job/jobs.
We will look at the task as quick as possible and get back to you with a quotation.
